Julia Ward

Assistant Director, Professional Development and Experiential Programs

Julia is a lifelong Hokie and alumna of Virginia Tech where she studied Human Development and minored in Psychology. She graduated with her Master's in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019 where she concentrated her studies in College Student Development and Counseling. Before bringing her passions back to Career and Professional Development at Virginia Tech, Julia served as a Career Advisor at VCU where she directly interacted with students through one-on-one advising and programming. Julia welcomes any opportunity to support students through experiential learning programs and initiatives but specifically loves the "aha moment" that students have when these experiences help them find a career path they are passionate about. Julia finds joy in both music and the outdoors, which she likes to combine by attending outdoor live music events. She also enjoys spending as much time as possible with friends, family, and her dog.
