Alyssa Henderson

Alyssa joined the Career and Professional Development team in August 2021. As a former undeclared student, she enjoys guiding students through the career exploration process, from self-reflection to discovering future possibilities. Alyssa utilizes her past experience in recruitment and a variety of industries, including digital marketing, financial services, and hospitality, to inform her career coaching. She thrives in finding connections between seemingly unrelated areas and empowering students to recognize their full potential while pursuing their personal definition of success.

In addition to advising, Alyssa is the Program Manager for the Peer Career Advisor (PCA) Program. She enjoys training and mentoring our talented PCAs who represent an assortment of academic programs across Virginia Tech! Learn more about the program at career.vt.edu/pca. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys singing and musical theater, playing video games, visiting theme parks, traveling, and trying new ice cream flavors.
