Resources to find assistantships or on-campus jobs
For Virginia Tech graduate students seeking graduate assistantships or on-campus jobs, these are resources and guidance:
- The best way is to contact individual departments and look on their websites.
- If the Virginia Tech Graduate School is made aware of opportunites, they will post them via:
Graduate Life Center (GLC) weekly newsletter with events, opportunities and services for graduate students. - Some departments might also post opportunities on Handshake, but they can usually fill their graduate assistantships and other positions without needing to do that, so be aware you will not see most opportunities there, and you are advised to use the other sources and guidance, especially item 1. on this list.
- Career and Professional Development graduate assistantship. (Example of item 1., an opportunity with an individual department.)
