Guaranteed Admission Agreement with Virginia Tech
Effective August 2023.
- Health Professions Advising (HPA) is pleased to announce that Virginia Tech has an agreement with The George Washington University (GW) School of Nursing for guaranteed admission to the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing program.
- This means that individuals who complete a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, AND meet all the admission and application requirements of the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing program, are guaranteed admission to that program.

George Washington University Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing:
About the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing:
- Program for individuals who have already completed a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field.
- Full-time, in-person, on-campus degree program spanning four consecutive semesters (15 months).
- Located at the George Washington University, Ashburn, Virginia, campus.
- Students may begin the program in fall, spring, or summer.
- This Virginia Tech webpage is not a replacement for complete program information and application deadlines for the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing.
Admission requirements for the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing:
To receive guaranteed admission to the GW accelerated bachelor of science in nursing, you must do the following before the start of the nursing program:
- Obtain a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech.
- Graduate with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Submit all components of a completed application, and meet all admission requirements, as explained by the GW Accelerated bachelor of science in nursing.
- Earn a grade of C or better in each of the prerequisite courses.
- Complete the prerequisite coursework at any of the following:
- Virginia Tech.
