Dhora is a full-time student at Georgia Southern University and a public relations and marketing intern with the university’s Career Services. After a six month application process, Dhora was chosen as a State Department intern and packed her bags for an assignment in Italy. >> Hi, my name is Sahara Shaw [phonetic] and I'm a senior at Georgia Southern University. My major is public relations with a double minor in marketing and journalism. Currently I am working at Office of Courier Services on campus and my position there is PR and marketing. A busy day [inaudible] department, it's crazy, because no single day is alike, it just depends on what's happening in the world. So when you go into work you have no idea, you have definitely pending stuff of the previous day that you have finish and then there could be crisis going on, could be this new projects that compile up on your desk so there's no, there's no way of knowing. Also like I worked at USUN which U.S. mission to the United Nations. So a lot of my days was going to the U.N., the FAL and WFPR headquartered in Rome, so going to those meetings representing the United States, so it's exciting stuff. That was my first time in Europe so it was my [inaudible] I've travelled before I've never been to Europe. So and living on my own and just, you know I didn't really speak Italian very much when I went there, now I'm better, I can survive but it is amazing, people there are very nice. And also when I worked at the Embassy I really didn't feel like I was in Italy until I like went outside the Embassy because it's such an American environment over there and everywhere you go it's like America, America and they so many events and stuff to make people that are working there not miss home. So, I mean our commissary everything from Juicy Couture to V8, so you never really miss home that much.
