CPD Career Readiness Toolkit

Helping faculty, staff, and student leaders guide students to career success.

Career conversations can happen anywhere: the classroom, during a student organization meeting, customized workshops for a specific group of students, and beyond. Career and Professional Development is excited to partner with you as you integrate career activities and resources for your students.

The Career Readiness Toolkit is a curated resource library of career development materials including interactive lessons, ready-to-facilitate activities, and pre-drafted assignments. These resources can be integrated into a variety of student learning experiences to support career readiness across campus. Faculty, staff, and student leaders can request access to these resources to help integrate career readiness content into their work with students.

Thank you for investing your time and building career readiness with your students!

What are they?

Our interactive lessons deliver career information in small, easily digestible segments, allowing you to select content that is most relevant for your students. All interactive lessons come with upload instructions and multiple-choice questions (with feedback for the answer choices) or reflective prompts that can be loaded into your Canvas course to reinforce learning.

Can I customize them?

The interactive lessons content cannot be customized, but you can add supplemental resources alongside the interactive lesson to provide tailored information for your specific students.

How do students get access to the materials?

We create the content (using Articulate), you upload the zip file into your course for your students to access.

Our library of career related activities features activities for a wide range of career needs and topics.

What is included?

Each activity comes with all associated handouts and a facilitator guide that walks you through the goal of the activity, talking points for introducing the topic, instructions to facilitate the activity, and a couple of debrief questions.

Can I customize them?

These activities can be implemented as written or easily adapted to fit a course, timeframe, or specific student population.

Our library of career-related assignments is designed to help students apply and reflect on key career concepts in a structured way. While activities support interactive, in-person (or synchronous virtual) learning, assignments provide opportunities for independent work and reflection outside the classroom.

What is included?

Each assignment includes clear instructions for completion along with any necessary handouts or supporting materials.

Can I customize them?

These assignments can be implemented as written or easily adapted to fit a course, timeframe, or specific student population.
