Team Hinchey is looking for a Field Director to lead the campaign’s field operation for re-electing New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey. The Field Director will be responsible for recruiting, training and mobilizing all members of our field team. Working alongside campaign leadership, the Field Director will help develop and execute the field plan, draft door knocking/phone banking scripts, prepare fliers, and track data to make sure the campaign is on track to meet voter contact goals.
An ideal candidate would possess:
- Strong communication and people skills, ability to engage with volunteers and voters;
- Organized and ability to multitask;
- Experience door knocking and/or phone banking;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/G Suite required;
- Access to reliable transportation
- Experience using VAN or other related campaign software preferred
- Prior campaign experience in a field capacity strongly preferred
- Management of interns and volunteers is a plus
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced environment
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, train and manage volunteers engaging in voter outreach efforts, including in-person canvassing and phone banking;
- Supervise and coach interns; work with campaign leadership to brainstorm intern
- projects, including community events;
- Assist with the planning and execution of campaign events;
- Launch door to door canvasses across the district;
- Work with Campaign Manager to track canvassing results in Van and Excel;
- Manage Field Organizers
- Work with overlapping campaign Field Directors to ensure coordination among races and targeted outreach
- Other duties as assigned.
