Camp Photographer, Social Media Team
In search of a young woman who has a passion for telling stories through photos. We are a Christian summer camp in Black Mountain North Carolina and are looking for someone to serve as a photographer for our summer program. This program is designed to help aspiring photographers build up their portfolios, practical experience hours, and skills. You will be expected to take a minimum of 200 photos a day and post them to our camp website, blog and social media accounts. These photos will allow you to gain experience shooting action, landscapes, portraits, groups, and indoor and outdoor activities.

Staff will arrive at camp on June 1, 2027 and depart August 12, 2027. Staff will work 6 days a week, having one day off and one evening off each week. This is a paid position and includes lodging and meals.

Alongside impressive photography and editing skills, we are looking for someone that displays these personality traits: Maturity, professionalism, positivity, grit, creativity, motivation, good with kids, and is comfortable accepting both praise and constructive feedback.
About Camp
Camp Merri-Mac is a christian summer camp for girls ages 6 – 16. Located high up in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, girls come to camp for over 80 years to have fun. We believe the happiest environment is one in which the love of God is demonstrated by the staff and felt by all. We are often asked what makes camp so special. No one expects a simple answer, which is good, because there really isn’t one. The best we can come up with is that we pay attention to details, and we’re really good at building places where girls grow through friends and adventure.
Merri-Mac is a traditional, family-run, Christian summer camp. Those buzz-words mean we offer a wide range of activities, we operate as an extended community that is close knit and family-oriented, and that we hire and maintain a Christian staff and environment. We are not a church camp or a sports camp and we love having children from lots of different backgrounds. We also carefully balance competition and cooperation as well as in-camp and out-of-camp activities. Merri-Mac counselors stand in positions of Christian leadership. As such each must demonstrate a serious Christian commitment, a high view of scripture and an abiding understanding of grace. We also hire camp counselors who are winsome and gentle in the way they care for children from different backgrounds.
