In June 2009, Jim joined the Employer Relations team within Career and Professional Development after 17 years working with the Capital Group/American Funds. His previous experience includes various leadership roles within Operations, Customer Service, and Human Resources departments. His primary role in HR was as a corporate recruiter specializing in college recruiting.

Lauren serves as the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement and Recruitment Services where she builds and strengthens partnerships with employers to expand recruiting and engagement opportunities for Virginia Tech students. She collaborates with employers, campus partners, and the Career and Professional Development team to strengthen employer relationships and support the university’s employer engagement efforts.
With a background in higher education, organizational development, training, and program management, Lauren has led enterprise project initiatives across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, managing project execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, and presenting outcomes to executive leadership. She has partnered with employers, universities, and community organizations to support organizational goals and collaborative initiatives.
