What new Virginia Tech grads do as a first destination after the undergraduate degree
- First destination refers to what graduates do following completion of the undergraduate degree, whether employed, continuing education, military service, volunteering, or in the process of seeking.
- This information is sometimes called "outcomes." The wording "first destination" is used by NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Universities, which developed standards and protocols for colleges and universities for collection and reporting of graduating student career outcomes data.
The survey:
For new graduates completing undergraduate degrees. The survey opens the month before commencement and closes six months after. Individual responses are confidential.
The report:
Reports give data for the university, colleges, and majors. The latest report is compiled and published in winter after the survey closes for the previous year's graduates.
