Originally from Maryland, Jay joined the Career and Professional Development team in 2016. After graduating from VMCVM, he spent 22 years in the Army where he served as a public health veterinarian in a wide range of assignments around the globe. This gave him a unique opportunity to work with medical professionals across the spectrum of healthcare and across a wide range of cultures. He is passionate about working with college students and helping them throughout their career journey. Through advising or presentations, Jay is available to assist students with resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, career/major exploration, self-development assessments, job searches, negotiating job and salary offers, networking skills, career fair preparation, and Linkedin help and guidance. He also works closely with students exploring or pursuing the military Health Professions Scholarship Program for any of the services.
