Our work is to assist all students at Virginia Tech, in all majors, first year through graduate level, throughout your journey of career and professional development, as reflected in our mission.

Effective July 1, 2016, our office is called Career and Professional Development. We were formerly called Career Services. Since summer 2004 we have been located in the building dedicated as Smith Career Center in 2007.

Virginia Tech students are welcome to visit us during office hours to use our Career Resource Center, to take full advantage of our website, and to seek advising with us.

To support our primary mission of assisting students in the career development journey, we provide:

  • Support to employers for recruiting of Virginia Tech students.
  • Collaboration with faculty and staff to assist our students.
  • Information for parents and families to encourage your students in their career development journey.
  • Resources for alumni who are interested in recruiting Virginia Tech students or need referral to alumni association resources.
